"Restore some semblance of calm"?

So the Sanford Chief of Police believes that everyone is just worked up and he wants to "calm people down" by stepping away from the investigation. He doesn't care about establishing a sense of CONFIDENCE in the Sanford PD??? This guy needs to go.

It's time to quit lookin' backwards to the past, and get busy lookin' forward to the future! Sure, mistakes may have been made, but everyone acted in good faith, so let's just move on. We can sit here and argue all day long about who shot who, but the truth of the matter is that the police and Mr. Zimmerman feel pretty bad, too. So let's just everybody resolve to do better in the future.

There. All better now.

Homer forgets to pick up Bart from soccer practice, and the whole "we can argue all day about who forgot to pick up who" soliliquy is delivered by Homer.
