To assault someone based on your religious rights...BUT NO ONE ELSE... COULD hit you back.. because they don't have the same religious rights you do, as a Christian. Is that what you are saying? Not that a Buddhist would hit back.. But I am sure others, religious or not...would want to return the favor but they can't ...because they are not Christian.

My OP was an attempt to ridicule the fundamentalists' notion that their religion gives them the special right to discriminate against others.

Other than during the regrettable period of my involuntary participation in the Vietnam War, I have never sought to harm another person, physically or otherwise.

My beliefs and values are very much shaped by my study of Buddhism, even though I do not identify myself as a traditional Buddhist.

I think they should be ridiculed.. wanting special privileges because they are Christians. The Jewish folk say they are the Chosen ones.. that must really stick in their craw.. or they scoff at it and say, Yeah right... pfft.

I find that if you talk back to them using the same type of language they use on gay people but reverse to indicate them, they say they are being discriminated again.
