To handle the stonings that would have to occur.

We'd have to recycle them.

You meter only subject to the old lapses if you were under the Covenant -- either a Jew or living among them.

Most of the laws from the old testament were done away with in Hebrews... others later. And many of the old laws he was referring to are taken care of in new ways as per the new covenant. Anything else would become a Bible study which is not what I am here for.

Should have used a screen shot but used the 'right click to add to photobucket' option (cause I am lazy like that).

She grew up an evangelical Christian and always was exhorted to "live Biblically". She thought people in her church really didn't understand how onerous the rules for women were in the Bible.

So she set out to live that way for a year... I know its Huffpost but this is a really great read.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/23/a-year-of-biblical-womanhood_n_2006184.html

When Rachel Held Evans's husband, Dan, woke up one Christmas morning, he found all of his presents addressed, "To Master, from Rachel."

"I had to call him 'Master,' as the Bible says wives should submit to their husbands," Evans told The Huffington Post in a phone interview. "He was as weirded out as I was. It seems like it should be a turn-on, but it really isn't."

On Evans' site, there are various videos of her in action. And though Evans says that she did the experiment playfully, it was meant to bring attention to a larger point — that there are more ways to be a woman of faith than what some evangelicals have selected from the Bible.
"I hate that the Bible has been used as ammunition [against women]," said Evans, "It blows my mind."

"The question is — are we going to use the Bible to silence women?" she added.

...to follow absolutely every law he found in the Bible literally, especially those that the 21st century wouldn't allow (i.e. he wasn't able to stone adulterers and such). But he did as much as he could.

If we're saying that we should have a reality show that makes certain evangelicals follow the bible literally, then we're going to have to admit that we couldn't let them do so 100% either. No reality show lets the contestants kill each other for rule infractions.

The bible can be interpreted in a number of ways depending on who is doing the interpreting. Politicians and right wing preachers versions would be a blast! Especially if they have minimum wage jobs...no birth control..so at least 6 kids. So many choices for actors.

...but there's nothing in the bible about a woman taking contraceptives. It only forbids the man from pulling out before orgasm. In fact, the bible mandates less sex given that 12 days out of every month a woman is "unclean" and can't be touched by her husband. So, that's almost half of each month that the couple are celibate. Of course, the bible also allows multiple wives, so that's the way men got around that.
