Looking for some fun entertainment? Prairie Home has Lily Tomlin & Martin Sheen on their show today.

http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/

This week on A Prairie Home Companion, our final winter rebroadcast, a blast of warmth originally from June 2013 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Colin Hay sings "Send Somebody," Lily Tomlin and Martin Sheen join us for a few scripts, Paula Poundstone ponders life in L.A., and Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele ask "Are You Ready for a Miracle?" In Lake Wobegon, high school graduation brings to mind tales of senior pranks from years past.

Fucking powder milk biscuits...cornball old folks shit. Just my opinion, though. There's a million modern podcasts I'd rather listen to.

He's about as subtle as a ton of bricks. I just don't find him funny, nor his social commentary incisive at all. It's just cornball shit. Sometimes, when he's speaking from the heart, he's a decent orator, with a right-on liberal sensibility. His 'showbiz' affectations and characterizations are just awful. Most of the time it's dreck. Lefty and that cowboy shit? Being from and living most of my life in Wyoming, that's the worst stereotypical, unfunny shit ever. Like I said, it's just my own opinion, and I doubt he's too 'subtle' for me. I've got a decent head on my shoulders, and a pretty keen ear for our culture and popular entertainment. He just sounds like a voice from before the psychedelic revolution of '65 or so. Your mileage may vary.

Too subtle. Get out of here with that.

He satirizes cowboys. That makes you mad. Well, he satirizes Lutherans and Minnesotans, too. It doesn't seem to make them mad.

And you accused me of not getting subtlety? Have a good one.

Did Garrison Keiler (sp?) retire? I listen to it occasionally, and would like to listen to it more. It's really funny, and not remotely like the shows in the above post. Sorry for the rudeness here.

They also have recent and many of the older shows in the archives. Hubby and I like to listen on late Sunday afternoon. It's a good way for us to wind down from the weekend.

Now, for some reason, he grates on my nerves a bit. I don't think he's a bad guy at all. He seems very nice, actually. I guess I'm just not in that place any more. And I think some of it has gotten stale. I hear him on my public radio station occasionally and try to like him but I end up turning him off...
