What the heck is "thundersleet"?

I get it... but as a native I have never heard that term used to describe a weather event! Hell, just this past few years we got "red flag" days for high fire danger! Never heard that one either!

Yikes!

Keep warm everyone!

They keep saying that over and over again on the local news. Looks like we are in for a small Ice even that will shut us all down for a few hours! UGH.

about a decade ago.
Isn't it cool? After screwing up the environment for a couple of centuries we are going to see weather that's never been seen before. Are we lucky or what?

terms like snow, ice, rain, etc. When they were turned down in court, they decided to make up words they could trademark and make a profit off of. Be careful, it they know you're using the term they might send a demand letter for payment.

The verbage is strange, we do not normally have these issues. Red Flag days was really confusing for us, ofcourse we are in a drought that has been not seen since the 50's.

I wondered that myself. These are terms not generally used in our area. Thanks for spelling it out for me.
