It's no accident that people like palin/mccain/graham/giuliani support Putin's is strong man theory

more rational minds say that Putin is out of his mind pulling this stunt.

Here Are All the People Who Think Putin Has Straight Up Lost His Mind

Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany told Mr. Obama by telephone on Sunday that after speaking with Mr. Putin she was not sure he was in touch with reality, people briefed on the call said. “In another world,” she said.

From Samantha Power

“So many of the assertions made this afternoon are without basis in reality. Is Russia justified in invading parts of Ukraine? The answer of course is no. Russian mobilisation is a response to an imaginary threat.”

Madeleine Albright

“I agree with what Angela Merkel said after she spoke to him, which is that he is in another world. I think that either he does not have the facts, he is being fed propaganda, or his own propaganda. It doesn’t make any sense. There are no calls for assistance…There is not this kind of a crisis in terms of the way that the Russian-speaking people are in some way being harmed. So this is all made up. And I think it’s part of a much longer term plan that Putin has had which is to try to recreate some form of relationship between Ukraine and Moscow. I think that is the tragedy that’s going on. Putin is in many ways delusional about this.”

invaded Iraq. This is another thing we can thank the Bush admin. for. The Iraq War said to the world, "look, we can invade countries for absolutely no reason at all now." When we criticize Putin's invasion of Ukraine, all he has to do is point to Iraq and all the people we killed there. The Iraq War is going to have far-reaching consequences, I'm afraid.

eventually start to believe their own PR. Always a dangerous thing when that happens. When you are surrounded by yes people, it's bound to happen. Putin has been batshit insane for awhile now. I half expect his next move is to show up in Ukraine with a staged crowd throwing flowers at him as their 'liberator'. He's nucking futz.
