Russia is a nasty-ass autocratic kleptocracy that no longer even has the pretense of being a socialist paradise. Nobody can seriously believe that it is somehow more admirable than the west.

So why would anyone on the left be a credulous conduit for the silliest Russian propoganda, simply because Russia is against America?

Are we going to return to talking about how the rebels launched the Sarin attacks? Why not?

We hear how the Kiev protesters fired on themselves, and how Russia is allowed by treaty to occupy Crimea, and how the neo-con/neo-nazi cabal planned the whole thing.

Well, what the fuck... why not go back to talking about how the US-supported forces false-flagged the Sarin attacks in Syria?

It is fine to hate America, but it is not fine to hate America so thoughtlessly as to believe that all other countries are better. Some of this stuff is like people deciding Exxon sucks (Exxon does suck) and making a career out of catapulting anti-Exxon stories written by Royal Dutch Shell or Gazprom.

The world is a little more complex than bumper-stickers imply. The enemy of your enemy is perfectly capable of being your enemy. Most ordinary people have a vast host of empowered enemies who are at war with each other while all warring on the little guy, everywhere.
