Who had one of these?

A coworker of mine had one of these because she was doing graphics for the organization's newsletters and other publications. We were all envious. I'm not sure hers was blue...might have been purple. This was in 1999...

It was turquoise, though.

Our first Mac at home was the Classic, in 1993: loved it, and kept it for years and years:

Then we had an LCII:

Then some sort of Power Mac (that was my favorite) ...

at the dawn of home computers, Apple had "drag and drop." I loved it! I thought it was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen...heh...

"old" electronics are always collector items at some point.

Mr. dixie wanted to give a relative a rotary phone as a gift, hunted all over and ended up paying 40.00 for one,
and that was 10 years ago.

6. why can't we have those colors today in our technology?

I think Steve Jobs was onto something with that introduction of color. I know artists who loved it. Everyone loved it.

Why not?

7. Because everything has to be black today.

Those colors remind people of the '70s, and it is obligatory to be ashamed of the 70's.

Well, that's my theory, anyway. Or they look too much like fun, which is also a no-no in today's world.

Back in the Day, I was definitely one of the anti-disco brigade. I've mellowed over the years, however.

Still, when I think of the 70's, I think of the pre-disco period. Aesthetically, I'm still pretty much stuck around 1972 or 3.

and that is why a little baby of all of 6 months rocked out to the BeeGees. We really don't need to overthink these things. The 70s brought relief to our insufferable angst by giving us disco...

I told my son this and he doubted it until his little baby had sheer joy on his face when he heard "Stayin' Alive." I think there was a Moment Of Understanding...sometimes that is what it takes...

some kind of flashback/throwback page...anyway, there were lots of colors in those days, weren't there? Everyone makes fun of those times, especially the 80s, but at least we tried to brighten things up! Then the @ssholes took over in 2001...

Me and my roommate had the same model and we would actually take them with us to graphics art room and video editing bay. Even though they were by no means portable devies, they were actually easy to pick up and relocate somewhere else. All you needed to do was put the keyboard in your waistband and the mouse in your pocket and you were all set.
