'Iraq was awash in cash. We played football with bricks of $100 bills'
At the beginning of the Iraq war, the UN entrusted $23bn of Iraqi money to the US-led coalition to redevelop the country. With the infrastructure of the country still in ruins, where has all that money gone? Callum Macrae and Ali Fadhil on one of the greatest financial scandals of all time

To my knowledge, this question has never been answered.

(10,098 posts)I get so angry with all the stories about Iraq. Condi Rice speaking at Rutgers, and all these crooks still sitting on their millions of ill gotten gains. Iraq is screwed to hell and these evil people should all be in jail.

(9,610 posts)Honestly, we are all just pissing into the wind here. There is no way to right any wrongs if we never admit that any wrongs have ever occurred. Our government's complete refusal to look at anything that has happened in the last couple decades is a travesty of justice.
I honestly am beginning to think that the best thing a moral person could do is to drop out of American society as much as possible and relocate to another nation and take up citizenship there. Preferably a nation who did not play a part in the war of aggression against Iraq. Possibly a Social Democracy. Iceland comes to mind as a "high on the list" choice in my view. It is only a matter of time until this country implodes completely.
