I just wanted to make sure her bad situation had not gotten worse. I used to have her e-mail address but I can't find it right now. Thanks for responding.

and has some issues of her own, last I heard.

She posted in ASAH not too long ago. Other members there probably know more than me.

She is one of the best souls on DU. If Glen Beck calls out a jihad on you, as he did on OGR, you know you're doing something right!

"And then there's Wishadoo. This looks so nice, be the missing piece. This has everything to do with mutual benefits supporting and sustaining the common good, shifting the traditional model of profit-only corporations, mutual benefit cooperation. Yes, yes, yes."

Not that I have a clue what the hell that screed means and since I don't have a stick perpetually up my ass I'm guessing I probably never will understand it.

Thanks pinboy3niner. 'Preciate it.

From the latter:

"Where have I heard people before profits? Where have — oh, yes, that's right. Here, people before profits, the Gray Panthers. The Black Panthers — the Black Panthers met with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last week.

But this is just about "Yes We Can" — the book, by the way, look at the top of it, please. "Strengthen the Fightback, Build the Communist Party." The book is from the Communist Party USA — the same people I sent you to that are still around and kicking today, that are proud to be standing here in this crowd. You can package poison to look like candy, but it is still poison.

Let me go back to Wishadoo. Where is Wishadoo on this? Here it is, Wishadoo, be the missing piece. They want to shift from a profit-only corporation to a mutual benefit cooperation system. Well, that brings me to the last piece of the puzzle — America's union movement.

Union members, you're not the problem. You're not the problem, but your silence is going to be the problem. You must not allow these people to do this to America. They are killing you and us. You'll just be the last one. You're being used"

You have to read the whole thing to get the gist

she hasn't been very busy here lately. Haven't seen her that much on FB either, although she has NOT unfriended me.

I speculate that she found other things to do when her status changed to "in a relationship" but I am ever the optimist.

15. Hey, Taz...

First, big to you for thinking of me.

(And to others who have been sending messages lately.)

I've been having one crisis after another for the last year, on top of chronic stress, just like most of us here on DU...at least the names I recognize.

I had to put the Wishlist and fundraising sections of Wishadoo on hold because it just became overwhelming to do everything on my own. I'm trying to revamp and find reliable funding in order to get help before moving forward. I haven't given up...just regrouping. The irony is that I want to encourage non-monetary, creative ways to be of service to one another, yet the reality is that I need some funding to survive. So, I'm exploring and regrouping, holding my breath that another crisis doesn't manifest any time soon...lol.

Hope everyone here is doing well and that 2014 is treating you kindly.

(Oh, as for the Beck thing, that was several years ago now. Yeah, you have to see the video to get the gist of it. He lumped Wishadoo in with all the groups he claimed are evil and destroying America, so his crazy followers stalked me for a while.)

You don't call, you don't write . . .

Seriously, so sorry you're going through so much right now. Things go in cycles, don't they? Both good and bad. I know my husband and I went through about 3-1/2 years of struggle. I thought it would never end, but it did (or at least got better) and so will yours.

So, what kind of help and funding are we talking about here? What can DU do to help? Goodness knows you've helped countless people on DU and elsewhere, lifted spirits, given hope to people whose situation seemed hopeless. Please tell us what can WE do to help you? Fundraiser? Technical help? What do you need?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

I need a lot of funding; while I'm grateful to have work-work which (barely) keeps the electricity going and roof over my head, I can't continue to try to build community at Wishadoo in order to help as many souls as possible who have fallen through the cracks, take care of the site itself, etc. I can't continue to do both, the work-work and Wishadoo work.

I'm no different than many others. I'm singing an all-too-familiar tune.

I've worked toward trying to set Wishadoo up as a member-owned cooperative over the years, and it's very difficult to do that...mainly because it really hasn't been done yet and I don't have a reliable team with me in doing it, helping to raise awareness, etc. Most of the people who support what I'm doing are barely making ends meet themselves and one crisis makes them fall off the radar too easily, and I just don't have a reliable team to be able to set it up as a legal cooperative as I've dreamed of doing. Not yet, at least. I haven't given up.

I'm working on summarizing the bigger vision, and existing tools, to present to those who DO have funds, to help keep this vision afloat, including finally being able to pay the awesome IT people who have helped so far. That's where I am right now.

So, good vibes, well wishes and/or prayers? That would help. And any connections to 2%'er types who want to be of true service to others and spread their wealth in a meaningful way without requiring one to jump through hoops and give them my firstborn, that would help, too. lol

Setting up yet another 501(c)3 in a sea of nonprofits isn't of interest to me either. It's very time-consuming and expensive, and just adds to the fragmentation all around. Partnering with an existing organization is something else I'm exploring though.

Again, thanks for thinking of me.
