(116,464 posts)Snowden is recounting problems he saw and corrections he suggested. Nothing about taking the documents he leaked to officials.

(12,769 posts)bringing wrong doings like this to your superiors simply makes them wary of you. Nothing good will come of it. Face it, the superiors already knew about it and did nothing so your bringing it up will do little good and may result your harassment.
Edited to add: What I ended up doing is simply refusing to be part of it and asking not to be on projects that make me uncomfortable but I doubt that position is even possible for many to take without suffering severe consequences.

(116,464 posts)I asked these people, What do you think the public would do if this was on the front page? he said. He noted that critics have accused him of bypassing internal channels of dissent. How is that not reporting it? How is that not raising it? he said.
He was talking to his colleagues about Russia? He asked them about it being on the "front page"? WTF? And he thinks that's "reporting it"?
More:
Asked about those conversations, NSA spokeswoman Vanee Vines sent a prepared statement to The Post: After extensive investigation, including interviews with his former NSA supervisors and co-workers, we have not found any evidence to support Mr. Snowdens contention that he brought these matters to anyones attention.

(10,007 posts)it is my responsibility to enforce all the laws that haven't been passed yet.
It is also my responsibility to alert each and every one of you to the potential consequences of various ordinary everyday activities you might be performing which could eventually lead to The Death Penalty (or affect your parents' credit rating).
Our criminal institutions are full of little creeps like you who do wrong things...and many of them were driven to these crimes by a horrible force called MUSIC! Our studies have shown that this horrible force is so dangerous to society at large that laws are being drawn up at this very moment to stop it forever!
Cruel and inhuman punishments are being carefully described in tiny paragraphs so they won't conflict with the Constitution (which, itself, is being modified in order to accommodate THE FUTURE)."

by Government Accountability Project on January 03, 2014
So that's fun: two months ago, Snowden's legal counsel was explaining to us why he didn't even try to go through channels; and now the NSA confirms what Snowden didn't try to go through channels, which is also what Snowden's legal counsel said in January
