Michele Bachmann: ‘The gay community have so bullied the American people’

Still reeling from the demise of Arizona’s “right-to-discriminate” bill, Michele Bachmann said last week that she is tired of gay people “bullying” her and the American people.

The Minnesota congresswoman told talk show host Lars Larson in an interview at CPAC that the gay community distorted the Arizona bill by making it about gay rights — even though the bill’s sponsor himself said it was about same-sex marriage.

“There’s nothing about gays in there, but the gay community decided to make this their measure,” Bachmann said. “And the thing that I think is getting a little tiresome is the gay community have so bullied the American people and they have so intimidated politicians that politicians fear them and they think they get to dictate the agenda everywhere. Well, not with the Constitution you don’t.”

her pic, William.. Thank you!

Don't know if you've seen this..

This is one writer who did post her pic but it's an excellent commentary on one michele bachmann. I have it on my FB page..

"Fuck Your Religious Beliefs, Sincerely — An Open Letter to Michele Bachmann -"

snip//

"There are very few words that can accurately describe just what malady you have made yourself on the United States of America. You are a symptom of a great illness that has always managed to make life insufferable for one group or another. Americans it seems have always had to grapple with a group among their ranks that just can’t keep their God out of everybody else’s lives, and while some have been able to play the role of theologian-cum-politician with at least some grace and an empathetic ear, you are simply the card-carrying bigot of your time; the female George Wallace, and I’m sick and tired, madam, of having to genuflect to the First Amendment every time you let forth from your mouth hole with the kind of backwards, antiquated and just plain mean pabulum that you try to pass off as intellectual dialogue. So I’m going to call upon my own First Amendment privileges now, and while I harbor no delusions that this letter will reach your dead eyes, nor that it will be comprehended in that vacuum that rests upon your neck, but I write this letter on behalf of everyone who is fed up with God, Jesus and the Holy Scripture being used both as a cudgel to bludgeon people with, and as a shield against any criticism, no matter how justified or earned. -

end snip//

The point I’m trying to make is a simple one — religious beliefs have never been, nor will they ever be an acceptable basis for hurting other people or infringing on their basic human rights. Religious beliefs that don’t promote hurting a whole class or subset of people — right on, no problem there. But oppressive policy is oppressive policy, and it doesn’t matter whether you use God, Jesus, or Yoda to justify it. -

Much MORE..
http://www.politicalgarbagechute.com/fuck-your-religious-beliefs-sincerely-an-open-letter-to-michele-bachmann/

I posted on his site that it was excellent and thanked James Schlarmann and he wrote back.. "Thanks for reading, James".

the 1% minority has done a bang up job "bullying" the majority of the American people. So it is possible.

The only problem here is the LGBT minority is not bullying anyone by choice but pushing hard and not allowing ourselves to be bullied by the majority anymore. This is about EQUAL protection under the law, NOT special protection under the law.

She is an idiot. As a gay man every time I see her husband my gaydar goes off telling me he is at best bisexual and has engaged in same gender sex more than once in his life.

But the ones that are the most homophobic are usually the closet cases.

Bachmann's District is one of the areas that has three of these groups with an average of 38k per. And on the West side, mostly Catholics and very conservative Evangelical Lutherans.

Talk about the Church Ladies, this Region has more than it's fair share. And as for the Bachmann's,it's all about the money. In Minnesota, when you leave political office, you keep all of your campaign funds. Ding Ding!!!!

The only people who should feel "bullied" by your and your party's hateful outdated bigoted bullshit are the GLBT people you and your ilk are targeting and going after. You know, like your own stepsister of the past forty-five years who's written you an impassioned, poignant letter about how horrible your stance makes her feel.

And frankly, the more I think about it, the more I realize that WE, the American people, are the ones being bullied by the likes of you and your damned party.

The one I heard the other day is that it was not about the gays, but the rights of religious people to live their lives as they believe it to be, and this is an attack on religion.

And after all, they can go to another baker.

The retort, it was on NPR and I could not take notes, was brilliant.

We have gotten over separate but equal.
