Donald Trump’s sons investigated over hunting trip in Zimbabwe

Donald Trump’s sons investigated over hunting trip in Zimbabwe

Sons of US tycoon Donald Trump are being investigated by Zimbabwean conservationists who said on Friday that they questioned the legality of the boys’ hunting spree in Zimbabwe.

The investigation was launched after photos were published online showing Donald Jr and Eric posing with dead game animals.

The independent Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force alleged that the Trump sons had killed an elephant, endangered leopard, a buffalo, a crocodile and other “big game” animals on a 2011 trip arranged by a South African Safari firm not registered in Zimbabwe.

A flurry of protests trailed the release of the hunting photos online – one pictured both men standing with the dead leopard and in another photograph one brother was seen holding up an elephant’s severed tail in one hand and a knife in the other.

this way they get the meat, no risk to local residents and some revenue from the hunting parties.

But it should certainly be done legally, with the correct permissions and licences.

I've read in a number of places that locals will eat leopards and lions when the meat is donated to them. What's more:

As for leopards being endangered, the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species disagrees.

Note that the status of "Near Threatened" is the second best status for a species. Limited hunting won't threaten the species as a whole.

I don't find big game hunting morally wrong in the slightest. It is morally neutral. IMHO, of course...

How do you feel about the trans-vaginal probe law? It's OK to do if it's a law?

That would be a law with which I disagree...accordingly, I advocate changing it.

and then continue in their afterlife. I bet that even if they end up getting fined, these two and dear old dad will find them a way to weasel out of it, or they will find a way to make a small* token payment so as to sweep it under then rug.

These people, if you can call them that, make me so damn furious.

One of them is that thing such as ghosts, angels, Bigfoot, etc., have never been scientifically documented to exist.

Does that mean that by definition they don't exist? Of course not...you can't prove a negative. I will assert that they don't exist.

I think a quote from Ghostbusters is appropriate at this time:

"Do you believe in UFOs, astral projections, mental telepathy, ESP, clairvoyance, spirit photography, telekinetic movement, full trance mediums, the Loch Ness monster and the theory of Atlantis?"

"If there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe anything you say."

“That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.”

Bright guy...

You can certainly believe anything you like. Heck, there are people who believe the Earth was created only 6,000 years ago, or that they can read minds, or that they can talk to spirits...but all of these claims are investigated with scientific scrutiny they evaporate like a puddle of water on a hot day.

Y'know...if you could reliably produce the ghost of animal (or any ghost, for that matter) under conditions that eliminate fraud, The Amazing Randi will pay you a cool $1 million dollars. Go for it!

at least I hope you do.

As for me, I know what I have experienced, and I know that not all people can or will see the world as I have.
I also know something about science as I have a B.S. in Geology. I have done graduate work in Karst and Urban Hydrogeological processes and TA'd in classes ranging from Paleo to GeoPhys. If it hadn't been for a medical condition, I would have finished my Masters and moved on to my Doctorate. It really pissed me off when I couldn't finish, I was a semester or two away and I already had my contact with and work with the man that would have been my Doctoral advisor.

Not everything can be explained with science as it is now. Every day we hear about new discoveries, theories, and methods. If you could go back 500 years, and told someone about radio waves, they would think you were mad. You would know they are real but you would have no way to show others. It wasn't until we advanced in other areas that we could see and know such things.

"Vocies from a box? You sir are either mad or a conjurer! Stone him! Burn him at the stake!"

There are things like the alchemical transmutation of base metals to gold. For ages stories raged that it could be done and that led to many alchemists devoting their lives to furthering their science. There were also a great many who said it was impossible or dark magick, something only the supernatural could ever do. We do know though that through modern technology, as in atomic reactors, we can transmute Mercury to Gold, even if it is only in very minute amounts and at great cost.* These technologies are beyond anything those original alchemists or their detractors could imagine.

As to ghosts and other supernatural entities, it is true that there is no scientific evidence of their existence. That does not mean they don’t exist, it just means we can’t comprehend them. It could be that environmental factors trigger certain reactions in the brain, or it could be that only those with certain brain characteristics can detect them. That said, sometime in the future, science might not only explain them, but find ways for everyone to experience them.

I'm sure I won't convince you, but now you know where I'm coming from.
