As soon as the committee learned she was going to plead the 5th, they could have offered immunity. Instead, the committee lawyer got made to look like a dope by the judge.

5. The committee cannot offer her immunity...they have no indictment power

Only the DOJ/US Attorney can do that. It would probably have to be both New Jersey and New York, and include the state AG as well. Complicated business.
