Well, at least Mittens' people were being honest, admitting their plans to simply "reset" all their positions for the general election like an Etch-A-Sketch. Of course he has already done that time and again. Mittens The Plastic Phony has spent his entire political career resetting himself for whatever race he was in or whatever audience he was in front of. Well, as he limps to the finish line and thanks Sonny Jesus that the TeaNut vote was split thus ultimately handing him the nomination (which is what is likely to occur as I have said before), this time he's not going to be able to just shake away the pandering TeaNut positions he's adopted such as embracing the Ryan plan to destroy Medicare, or attacking Planned Parenthood, or increasing the insane tax giveaways to the corporatists, or his plan to allow the auto instrustry to go bankrupt, and on and on. These will be stuck to him like superglue. Add to this that the economy continues to improve, which he has now had to admit, and that he is one of the lamest and dullest silverspooned gaffe givers ever to enter electoral politics. I'm not too worried about Mittens. He's going to be beaten up hard as the corporatist, elitist, ultra flip flopper that he is. Yes, he will have his corporate cronies behind him with big bucks, but he won't have an enthusiastic base, and he is going to be taken to the woodshed but good. Meantime, the clown car rolls into Louisiana, and it appears Sick Rick is poised to win another one. Still so fun to watch.

(22,143 posts)I too enjoy a good back and forth with the wingers. Mostly it's chain email crap which is easily debunked and usually goes unanswered. But occasionally I'll come across one who can actually write intelligently and defend their positions in a thoughtful manner. I have fun with it.

(24,721 posts)They were always easily debunked, but just the clever & imaginative way they were written had me wondering if there was an underground office somewhere in charge of writing & distributing that silly, superstitious propaganda. I had been getting them since the "kick their @ss, take their gas" days, but I was finally able to get off my contacts' mailing lists.
