If the missing plane was detected by the military going in a different direction,

wouldn't that have rung warning bells at military headquarters? An unidentified plane in an airspace where no plane is supposed to be usually gets the military on high alert in most countries. It's hard to believe they didn't speak up sooner.

Things get messy in these affairs. Mistakes are made.

Don't you think they would know a commercial flight? Being at peace, why would they panic about an overflight? Especially since there are plenty of flights in and out of that general area daily.

I am not surprised at all. And that's if this is not a mistaken sighting.

There's no confirmation.

I don't know if the military keeps track of all flight plans or not. Generally they are not concerned with civilian planes as long as you stay out restricted airspace. And for civillian ATC, loosing a plane on radar over the ocean isn't that uncommon, so that alone would not ring alarm bells. I would imagine planes over the ocean are not heavily monitored by the Military, but when the plane came up missing, they pulled the radar logs to find it.

Or will they somehow cover that up...if indeed they took it out thinking it was coming with harm in mind?
