President Obama Visits NYC, Takes Surprising Shopping Trip To The Gap

Apparently even President Obama knows that New York City is a great place to shop. During a trip to the Big Apple today, the president made a surprise stop at the Gap. Obama checked out some khakis and sweatshirts. A cheery saleswoman talked him through a few options, including a V-neck pink sweater. Obama said he was worried the V-neck would “slip” off his daughter’s shoulders. He ultimately settled on a light pink crewneck for Sasha and a bright pink one for Malia.

A White House official explained the president’s impromptu stop: “In his State of the Union address, the President called for businesses to raise workers’ wages, and today the President will visit a Gap store to show his support for Gap Inc.’s decision to increase wages for their US based employees.” During his visit to the store, Obama also picked out navy blue zip-up workout shirtfor the first lady. The president then greeted the woman behind the counter, who told him he was better looking in person. “You hear that?” The president said to reporters. “I think the ladies will be impressed with my style sense,” the president said as his items were rung up.

I am sorry but I am pissed off. We lost an election that we should have easily won. The district voted for Obama TWICE and we lose a special election? I wish the President would have at least gone to her district and perhaps shaker her hand and wished her the best and also remind the Democrats to get out and vote and WHY! That he can't do anything without Democrats in offices. Tonight I am so mad that we as a whole wasted a great opportunity. Heck I don't even know if she is good or not. What I cared about with this election was momentum going into November.

outsmarted, the President wouldn't have changed that dynamic. I am as angry as you are. I contributed money to the Sink effort, all that got me was panic email after panic email from the DCCC asking for more money. I ended up feeling like an ATM instead of a loyal Democrat. I don't expect anything will change, but House Democratic leaders need to put a smart firebrand in charge of campaign efforts, not someone who foolishly follows Chris Christie around Florida while Christie's feet are sinking into wet concrete. Democrats must look at the fund-raising companies that they employ and leave only the ones that are dedicated to electing Democrats, not lining the pockets of company owners. Activist Democrats must recognize that they need to get the fuck out and vote at all times and get the fuck away from the idea that street protests matter, protests don't change a fucking thing, electing leaders that share our views brings about change.
