Pat Robertson: God causes power outages to mock discussions of global warming

Television preacher Pat Robertson on Thursday explained that God had caused a brief power outage in Washington, D.C. to mock Senate Democrats who held a late-night discussion about climate change.

The office of the Architect of the Capitol said on Wednesday that high winds had caused a power surge that temporarily shutdown the building’s exterior lights.

Robertson opened his 700 Club show the next morning by connecting the power outage to the Democrat’s Monday all-night Senate session that brought attention to climate change.

“Do you think God has a sense of humor? Well, I think he does,” Robertson opined. “Let me tell you what happened. In the United States Capitol, Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer and the Democrats had an all night marathon advancing global warming. And they said we have to be in fear of global warming. So, God says, ‘Harry and Barbara, you’ve got it all wrong.’ He dropped the temperature 40 degrees, sent so much wind that it that it knocked out the lights in the Capitol dome for the first time in years,” the televangelist laughed. “And it’s still cold!”

I've said it before, his god is a very, very small one.

It's the easiest way to convince yourself that you're not breaking the first commandment: just slap the name "Jesus" or "God" onto whatever that thing is that you're actually worshiping.

Pat Robertson's back on board the crazy train.

Correction. He's not on board. He's driving the damned thing.

is that his lunacy is institutionally legitimatized. Media gives hims a platform, heads of state give him an ear, and his followers give him boatloads of money.

Why didn't he just turn off the lights on all the gay peoples' houses? Sorry, I just can't keep up with his tantrums.

Robertson saying this crap?

Or the Obama administration pushing fracking, the Keystone XL, and - as was announced this morning in the Times - allowing BP back into the Gulf to drill for oil again?

One denies climate change.

The other is actively causing it.

So there's crazy, and then there's CRAZY.
