What's happening with CNN is pathological.

I don't know how else to describe it.

Earlier they actually had a "Time until flight recorder beacon battery runs out" clock running in the background... counting down by the SECOND. Something like "17 Days 12 Hours 45:13"

And now the latest thing they've found to keep busy over the last few hours is the phrase "Zombie Plane". They threw out the phrase "some are calling it a 'zombie plane'" all dramatically, to introduce the term. And then minutes later they went right to "....what some are calling a zombie plane...." all nonchalant as though we've all been using that term already for days. Then some talking head on a panel says "I prefer to call it a ghost plane!" It's weird, it's like the typical degradation of coverage, but in fast forward.

Normally when you see this type of story where there is a lot of public interest but no new information, in order to milk the ratings bump the coverage starts to degrade into weird speculation just to keep it out front, and eventually it goes batshit if starved into madness from no actual news being forthcoming. Normally it takes a few days, this is happening in minutes. Whatever it is that causes this phenomenon, CNN is purifying, crystallizing and smoking it.

Somewhere I read that they are even beating Fox News since the plane situation. I guess they are just hoping that the eyeballs will stay.

Since the early 2000's America has been suffering from a new type of psychosis, due to the way they get their information...Faux and the right wing led the charge but CNN and all the right wing talk radio and such, have truly exacerbated the illness.

I cut my cable back in 2008 and went Netflix on a PS3 for TV shows and movies and only use the internet for my news. I feel much healthier mentally, have more family time, am less upset over issues, and have saved close to $5,000 on cable bills (used to pay $80 a month). And one of the best things of all...I am incredibly happy that my money is not going to support that drivel.

CNN, when Ted Turner started it was pretty good, but it has become pure shit in the last decade. Those people should be ashamed of how low they have fallen.

Doesn't even mean anything anymore. I think even a CNN anchor said it was problematic or disturbing.

Yea, thanks CNN. We've known about that for hours and hours. NOT BREAKING NEWS!!!

Simply ridiculous.
