Today on Fox News Sunday, Republican Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (WI-01) falsely claimed he doesnt know if the House Republican budget would result in the middle class suffering and the ultra wealthy benefitting. Ryan said, theres no way to know.
In reality, the House Republican budget would give tax breaks to millionaires, billionaires and Big Oil, while cutting education, ending the Medicare guarantee and raising health care costs for seniors, and destroying American jobs. Republicans would ask the middle class and seniors to sacrifice, while refusing to ask the ultra wealthy to sacrifice at all.

(10,751 posts)...then he has no business drawing up a budget in the first place.
I'll spell it out for ya, Mr. Ryan: budgets are POLICY documents. They are written by lawmakers and they represent POLICY choices made by said lawmakers. If a lawmaker has no idea what effect his or her policies will have on various segments of the population, then he or she has NO BUSINESS WHATSOEVER drawing up laws.
