Ukraine far-right leader Muzychko dies 'in police raid'

FINALLY! It takes a meeting with Russia's prime minister for Ukraine to act. He was a wanted criminal so it is not clear if they are taking a action against Right Sector as a while. Unfortunately it is largely symbolic if they go after some right sector leaders but leave Svoboda in power.

A Ukrainian ultra-nationalist leader has been shot dead in what officials describe as a special forces operation.

Oleksandr Muzychko, better known as Sashko Bily, died in a shoot-out with police in a cafe in Rivne in western Ukraine, the interior ministry said.

He was a leader of Right Sector, a far-right group which was prominent in the recent anti-government protests.

SNIP---

The shooting of Muzychko happened just hours after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Deshchytsia - their first meeting since Russia's move into Crimea triggered a diplomatic crisis.

Born 1962 in Perm region, Russia
After Ukraine became independent in 1991 he set up nationalist groups in Rivne, western Ukraine
Spent several years in jail after conviction for extortion in 1999
Accused of leading "criminal gang" in Rivne
Russia accused him of atrocities in Chechnya
As a Right Sector leader he participated in Maidan anti-government protests in Kiev

1. The defense minister resigned, he was a Svoboda member

Tenyukh, a member of the far-right nationalist Svoboda party, announced his resignation during an address to parliament, but the measure to approve his dismissal initially failed to muster enough support in the legislature, only passing by a slim margin in a second vote.
In 2012, Tenyukh joined the Sevastopol branch of the far-right Svoboda party led by Oleh Tyahnbok, who advocates an ultranationalist ideology.
Tenyukh was appointed deputy chief of staff of the country's armed forces shortly after his active participation in the so-called Orange Revolution in 2005.
He later served as commander of the country's navy and in that role orchestrated an information war against Russia's Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, before being dismissed by President Viktor Yanukovych in 2010.

Andriy Parubiy, co-founder of the Neo-Nazi Social-National Party of Ukraine (SNPU), is the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council. The self-admitted fascist Dmytro Yarosh, the head of the "Right Sector" militant organization which carried out the coup, is now Parubiy's Deputy.

Quoting FAIR:

The new deputy prime minister, Oleksandr Sych, is from Svoboda; National Security Secretary Andriy Parubiy is a co-founder of the neo-Nazi Social-National Party, Svoboda's earlier incarnation; the deputy secretary for National Security is Dmytro Yarosh, the head of Right Sector. Chief prosecutor Oleh Makhnitsky is another Svoboda member, as are the ministers for Agriculture and Ecology (Channel 4, 3/5/14). In short, if the prospect of fascists taking power again in Europe worries you, you should be very worried about Ukraine.

Dmitry Yarosh is the one threatening to destroy Russian pipelines on Ukrainian soil. He considers the far-right Svoboda "too liberal".

Here's one of his tamer informercials.

There is going to be a power vacuum in the Ukraine and the person who comes out on top will be the last person standing.

A sensible person reading this OP would note that it makes a complete mockery of your preceding eleventy-seven posts.

Why would the police gun down a Right Sector/Svoboda leader if Ukraine was being run by Svoboda?

Ohhhhhhhh... "It takes a meeting with Russia's prime minister for Ukraine to act."

"Unfortunately it is largely symbolic if they go after some right sector leaders but leave Svoboda in power."

Umm..... Svoboda IS NOT IN POWER.

I have no idea why you pump a Russian propaganda line here, but it is shocking behavior, whatever the motive.

most people pumping Russian state-dictated propaganda on American message boards are probably doing it for free.
