Dems Bring Out The Big Guns In Iowa After 'Farmer' Comment

Dems Bring Out The Big Guns In Iowa After 'Farmer' Comment

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has endorsed Rep. Bruce Braley (D-IA) in the Iowa Senate race.

Warren's endorsement on Thursday was a joint nod from the Massachusetts senator and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee. Warren also endorsed Democratic candidate Rick Weiland in South Dakota.

"The Progressive Change Campaign Committee and I are proud to support their campaigns," Warren said in an email sent out by the PCCC. "I know that bold progressives like you can stand up to the most powerful interests. I know it because I saw it for myself when you encouraged me to run for the Senate in Massachusetts, and I saw it as you fought by my side every step of the way."

The endorsement came a few days after new video of Braley surfaced where he warned that if Republicans gain control of the Senate a farmer with no law degree would become chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Braley was referring to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the ranking Republican on the committee.

I was wondering the same thing...which is too bad, because his comment is an appropriate one, but would be more likely to be seriously considered if he left out the "farmer" reference. I mean to have someone without a law degree chair the judiciary committee is ridiculous. but now the only consideration his comment will get is:

"ERMIGERD! He said farmers are dumb! OMG! He hates farmers!"

Which is too bad.
