Or are his insults and personal attacks reserved for Democrats, until he gets the GOP into the White House?
When Roe is repealed, birth control is illegal and all unions are gone, we'll have him to thank for our new American Taliban overlords!

he will be the sole cause that keeps Obama from winning a third term.
And I am pretty sure he never did say anything bad about Bush when Bush was pretending to be President.

(45,120 posts)If Will can throw the election to the pukes with TWO OPs and get a GOP in the White House that some amazing shit. Lets avoid the GOP president and concentrate on William Rivers Pitt. I suggest we elect him to the White House.

(65,616 posts)Will Pitt can cause our downfall merely by typing something negative on a political forum about the POTUS? Holyshit! I had no idea he was that all powerful!
So which is it? Is he this all powerful human or is he nothing but a number...I keep hearing the same people vacillate between the two.

Thicken up your skin. People see things differently and have the right to express them. If you don't know anything about the person you are speaking of (and apparently you do not) then perhaps you should acquaint yourself rather than knee jerking your way into silly land.

(82,383 posts)It does not become more powerful when Democrats hold it.
It will always require compromise. I don't know what standard you mean, if it's behavior, well, Democrats generally already behave better. If it is holding with zeal to ideology and refusal to compromise, I'll leave that to Republicans.
But as to results - that depends on the make up of each Congress/Legislature. I'm not going to call it betrayal if they can't get everything out of a legislature.

(16,916 posts)I thought you meant any number of other times Pitt has said something...controversial.
And BTW, my original response was to the OP, which did not identify the fact that there were multiple posts.
In fact, I didn't know till just a moment ago that Pitt had used the term multiple times. I have the man on ignore (just because I understood the sentiment, does not mean I don't get tired of reading really irrational shit), so I'm not what you would call a fan.
Anyway, if I knew then what I know now...I'd have known better. Thanks for the head's up.

(64,933 posts)actually wrote a book with another man who was well aware of the lies that led to the Iraq invasion by the Bush Gang. This was even before the war. It was known, even at that time, that the war was being based on lies.
There are a lot of people that don't want to be compared to and become complicit in the war.

(29,381 posts)What an eye-opener that was for me.I knew from watching the mainstream media that something just didn't add up, and then when I read about the PNAC's blueprint, I realized Iraq was a target all along.
madinmaryland
(64,933 posts)yes, DU, and understanding that there was something really off about the excuses for going to war with Iraq. Will Pitt and Scott Ritter understood this.
And yes, Iraq was the target all along. Afghanistan turned out to be nothing more than a diversion that lasted for more than 10 years.

It seems to work for my nephew. Oh wait...no, not really. The reactions to a comparatively-minor event around here are starting to wig me out. It's not like Will's opinion of the President changes everything...or anything for that matter.
Wait! What am I saying?
The United States is doomed! Will Pitt called the President "a used car salesman" and now the seas are boiling and the lakes are turning to blood, the heavens are falling and the earth is shaking, Mitch McConnell just held a door for Elizabeth Warren, I just had a decent non-alcoholic beer and good barbecue...in New Haven, CT! There's exceptional pizza in parts of the US South. Doom! Doom!

(14,524 posts)... but it didn't register that way for me. My mistake.
IMO, someone with the temerity to take cheapshots at a quality, established DU member with the stature and creds of Mr Pitt, isn't to be taken seriously. That's all I was trying to convey.

(53,041 posts)Who got upset. I've been reading him long enough not to doubt his political standing. However, there is a distinct danger in continuing to promote disillusionment with the Democratic Party, and a President Cruz is a very possible outcome if Democrats don't vote because they decide the two parties are the same.
