(1,068 posts)And though I don't agree with the death penalty, if ANY case would qualify, this would be the one. Besides, the NBP has a Dead or Alive bounty on him.

That would save a lot of money but the results might be unsatisfactory.
I have serious questions about Zimmerman's actions but I believe he deserves a fair investigation of the incident and possibly his chance to face a jury. My main question is why did Zimmerman ignore the instructions of the dispatcher and choose to confront Martin. I feel that he probably lost the right to claim self defense at that point as from what I have read, he initiated the confrontation. In fact, Martin might have been able to claim self defense if he would have killed Zimmerman and survived. If I would have been followed by a stranger who was not a cop as I was walking and he left his vehicle and confronted me in an aggressive manner and possibly flashed or drew a handgun, I would have damn good reason to fear for my life.
However, I would like to hear Zimmerman's side of the story and have a chance to review all the evidence before making a decision on his guilt or innocence.
I seriously hope that you don't agree with the bounty placed on Zimmerman. If some member of the black community succeeds in killing Zimmerman before or even after the investigation is complete, what would happen to the level of racial tensions in our nation? In recent years we have made some progress on this front and Zimmerman's murder might cancel out all the good that has been accomplished.

(640 posts)You must be privy to all the facts of the case to make such bold conclusions in knowing what punishment must be handed out.
Also, the "I don't support the death penalty but..." line really doesn't hold water. You realize that a lot of cold blooded murders have even worse facts than this case, right?
People need to stop pretending these kind of events don't happen on a regular basis. Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon scenario - only unique in who is involved.

(10,622 posts)would it be so important to own and keep with you a tool designed specifically to kill other people?
Too afraid to face other people without the means to kill them. Or.
So much in hate of other people, won't face them without the ability to kill or maim them.
Is our society insane, or merely some in it that need so badly to have the means to kill or maim others within easy reach at all times?

That's karma.
