I suppose....yes, the whole voter id shtick is getting old.

Michigan's voter id law says if one hasn't any ID on one's person, one may swear an affidavit to the poll inspector and vote without any "provisional" or other nonsense, provided one is registered in the poll book.

It works just fine. As a poll inspector, I've never had to turn away a registered voter (unless they're registered in another precinct. We send them to the right polling place, then).

After all, if the voter has been registered, they've already been ID'd.
