Comment with YES or NO!
As of just now, there are 41,386 responses. Every single one I looked at either had some variation of "YES" or was giving him hell for the shutdown:

Not quite the response he expected, I'm sure!

I apologize to all Texas DUers but I find myself asking repeatedly - what the hell is WRONG with people in states like Texas? WHY ON EARTH do they want to vote for assholes like him? WHY do they like dingdongs like louie gohmert? WHY are they enamored of people like tom delay? WHY do they shove dumb-fuck schmucks like duhbya and rick "oops" perry on the rest of us? WHY? What is the matter with Texas voters? WHY are they now in love with george p. bush? BEWARE, he's gonna make his move one of these days. VERY worrisome, that one.

(118 posts)Saved by Obamacare. Just one of many common threads...none struck me as funny -they would make wonderful ads or a report on Rachel or MSM. Thousands of folks already rescued by ACA and it's just getting started!

(11,519 posts)Democrats are traditionally horrible at getting to the polls for non-presidential elections. We need to act differently this year.
We need to be talking about things like this, where ACA/Obamacare truly has helped real people. We need to keep reminding people about how GOPers shut down the government. etc. etc.

On Monday Ted Cruz, in anticipation of the impending doom of Americasomething the rest of us would call the Affordable Care Act signup deadlineposed a question to his idiot followers on Monday. It was the tried-and-true drumbeat of the Stupid Party, an attempt to capitalize on the words of the President to whine about Obamacare.
Unfortunately for Cruz, when he asked, Quick poll: Obamacare was signed into law four years ago yesterday. Are you better off now than you were then? Comment with YES or NO! Cruz was surely not expecting what happened next: ACA supporters flocked to the thread to express exactly how deluded Green Eggs and Bullsh*t really is. Pages and pages of comments in support of the Presidents signature law flooded into Cruzs page:

(17,505 posts)It may have been signed into law 4 years ago, but it wasn't implemented until.... now! Cruz thinks he's clever. Back when it was signed into law many were asking "why wait 4 years?"....remember? This is also why when some actress says "Obamacare is not working", one should think "It's not even finished with the enrollment period.... how can anyone tell whether its a failure or not now????"
Anyway..... the answers ol' Teddy got are the very thing the GOP was scared to death about. HA HA!

(17,600 posts)For most people ... not all, but most ... the economy and thus their own circumstances have improved in the last few years. So the question "are you better off" - if answered honestly - relates to the person's whole circumstances, not just regarding health care - has to be "yes".

The Tea Party crusade against the Affordable Care Act (ACA) hit a huge snag this week. On March 24, 2014, Texas Tea Party Senator, Ted Cruz, decided to put up a quick poll, about the ACA on his facebook page. Problem? The Koch brothers dont control the conversation on social media, the people do.
Ask a question, get an answer.
The question Rafael Ted Cruz asked on facebook was simple. Are you better off now than you were before the ACA, also called Obamacare, was signed into law, four years ago?
Nearly 40,000 comments later, the resounding answer from people all across the country was YES.
People love the ACA.
People who responded to the question cited different reasons for saying that theyre better off since the ACA went into effect. Some pointed out that the ACA has saved them money, reduced their monthly premiums, and lowered deductibles and co-pays.
A large number of those who responded to Cruzs quick poll, said cited the ACA that prevents insurance companies from dropping people with a preexisting condition.

Either none of his staff (or he) is actually looking at it or they haven't been able to corral enough of their supporters to create sock puppets to drown that out or.... he doesn't give a damn. I expect it's the last option. This type of person is ego-driven and has no concern for anyone or anything outside of themselves.

BTW Please forgive me but I want to punch Ted Cruz in the mouth ..... he
is trying to keep people from getting health care under the old system we
were spending 20% of our GDP, 45,000/yr were dying, the biggest cause of
bankruptcy was health care expenses.
