‘Fox News-Addicted’ GOP’er Signs Up For Obamacare: "I’m a Republican, And You Should Get Covered!"

by Salvatore Aversa
March 28, 2014

A self-described “Fox News addicted, staunch Republican’ has been helped by Obamacare. Despite the constant fight against the law, Mark D. Bearden, Ph.D decided to explore his options. What he found shocked him–so much so that he decided to share his story.

From Whitehouse.gov:

I am a staunch Republican, a self-proclaimed Fox News addict, and I didn’t vote for the President. And I’m here to tell you that Obamacare works. I’m living proof.

I’m a chemotherapy patient, and was previously paying $428 a month for my health coverage. I was not thrilled when it was cancelled.

Then I submitted an application at HealthCare.gov. I looked at my options. And I signed up for a plan for $62 a month.

It’s the best health care I have ever had.

So right now, here’s what I want to tell anyone who still needs health insurance, or knows someone who does:

Sign up. Follow the instructions on the website. Apply, and look at your options. You still have time, and take it from me: This is something you want to do.

I wrote a letter to President Obama this past February to tell him about my experience with the Health Insurance Marketplace. I hoped he’d read it, and he did.

I may not be a supporter of the President. But now, I get mad when I see Obamacare dragged through the mud on television.

And even though I regularly tune in to conservative pundits, I’d like to tell them they’re getting it wrong. Obamacare works.

So one more time: If you still need health insurance, you have just three days to get it. Do what I did. Go to HealthCare.gov, submit an application, and pick a plan that works for you.

It just might change your life.

Mark D. Bearden, Ph.D.
Monroe, North Carolina

The vast dark side Repubublicon conspiracy against the citizens of These United States slowly -- sucker by sucker -- comes unraveled.

If I had been suckered by the Republicon lies about Obamacare, i would be mightily pissed at the Republicons who have been lying to me systematically for so long.

It must feel shitty to be suckered so badly and deliberately by the Republicon, Inc. machine.

One of the ads should simply say - your representatives have health care - why don't they want you to have it?

Not because of the subsidy but because I am infinitely fascinated by people with advanced educations that manage to twist themselves into the GOP ignorance box....its like watching those guys from the old TV show "That's Incredible!"...lol!

Will those moderate republicans who are appalled by the extremism in their party going to vote for rethugs in November? Will republican parents who's kids are still on their plan because of the ACA going to vote for politicians who want full repeal.? You have to wonder how these voters will vote against the ACA provisions that benefit them. It will be really interesting to see how and if they turn out and vote the republican ticket.

She's a big time winger and handicapped. She's been looking for a job she could do from home in the rural town she lives in. She's an RN and had some luck with telephone hotlines and counseling, but struck pay dirt working under the new ACA guidelines for reviewing cases of pharmaceutical and treatment side effects, overdoses and other mistakes that result in patient injury. The irony is delicious.

Check out the facts on the environment, education, worker's rights, women's rights, pay equity, income inequality, etc.
