TransCanada is running an ad for the Keystone XL pipeline on DU.

It says the pipeline will transport oil safely, minimize environmental impact, and create jobs, among other things.

Actually none of these are true--as for impact on the environment, oil passing through the pipeline is dilbit, an especially dirty kind that when burned will contribute to climate change. And what guarantee will there be that the pipeline won't leak? As for jobs, the great majority will be temporary, lasting only as long as it takes the pipeline to be built.

I hope President Obama doesn't approve the pipeline.
