Coroner: Student fell to death in Denver after eating marijuana cookie
Associated Press - • Updated: April 2, 2014 at 2:52 pm • Published: April 2, 2014

DENVER — A Wyoming college student visiting Denver on spring break jumped to his death after eating a marijuana cookie that his friend legally purchased in one of Colorado's recreational pot shops, authorities said Wednesday.

An autopsy report lists marijuana intoxication as a "significant contributing factor" in the death of 19-year-old Levi Thamba Pongi, a native of the Republic of Congo who fell from a motel balcony on March 11.

Pongi's friends told investigators he ate the cookie and "exhibited hostile behavior" that included pulling things off walls and speaking erratically, the report said.

Attempts by the three friends to calm Pongi seemed to work until he went outside and jumped over the balcony railing, according to the report.

"exhibited hostile behavior" Sounds like there was more going on than just a cookie. hobbit709 Apr 2014 #1

Fell or jumped? Article says both. Got aggressive and hostile? From a pot cookie? Doubtful. cleanhippie Apr 2014 #5

I just don't see how it could be medically evaluated as a "significant contributing factor" unless an agenda is involved.

Pulling these stunts for the publicity. My first though was his "buddies" threw/pushed him off.

...it is near impossible just to get people eating pot cookies to leap off the shag carpeting so I could vacuum. (Hint:Move lava light to the dining room.)

problem solved. While not a scientific test, it would match the testimony of most with experience in this field, I think. It was NOT the pot, that sent him flying.

I don't think I have ever, ever seen anyone get violent on pot. Maybe I was just lucky. My friends all just sat around in rocking chairs listening to really good tunes or watching cartoons.

or took a bad acid trip! As someone who is very experienced with pot, I highly doubt it was the marijuana. This medical expert should have his license revoked and admit he has an agenda and on someone's payroll!
