Boehner: “I Don’t Want to Live in a World Where Seven Million People Get Affordable Health Care”

Boehner: “I Don’t Want to Live in a World Where Seven Million People Get Affordable Health Care”

WASHINGTON —A riveting scene unfolded in Congress today as a tearful Speaker John Boehner took to the floor of the House to tell his colleagues, “I don’t want to live in a world where seven million people get affordable health care.”

Tears streaming down his cheeks, Rep. Boehner appeared unable to maintain his composure as he delivered a speech interrupted by blubbering and sharp intakes of breath.

“What kind of a world is it where anyone can go on the Internet and get health care they can afford?” he said. “Not a world I’d care to live in, or leave to my children.”

“It’s not right… and it’s not America,” he said, breaking down.

Later, dabbing his eyes, a still-sobbing Boehner apologized to reporters for “losing it up there.”

“I don’t like to get so emotional,” he said. “But when seven million people signed up for Obamacare, a part of me died.”

They really are upset at the idea that someone is getting something they don't deserve. Its more than just the taxes and spending, its the fact that people are getting something that angers some conservatives so much. They don't want to rub elbows with the undeserving on buses or schools, and definitely not their doctor's office either.

Note their completely irrational opposition to things that don't affect them, like gay rights or women's rights or disability rights.

Conservatives from all over the US are preparing to put up an expensive and aggressive legal/propaganda war against Vermont's single payer initiative. They killed it in big California so they think they can kill it in little Vermont.

That is true, and outrageously ironic.

The entire purpose of the Republican Party is to guarantee a small handful of people get what they don't deserve -- the lion's share of wealth generated by all working Americans.

We passed it multiple times in the legislature only to have it
vetoed by Ahhhnold the Gropenator.

Then yes they did pour a ton of money to defeat the ballot proposition,
but I believe it will happen in California.

Now that the formula used by increasing taxes on the wealthy and logical

hopefully something happens with healthcare soon.

I thought it was The Onion.

I kept looking for something to say this is not an actual quote,
which doesn't exist, unless you know about Andy Borowitz.

So, I believe the comment that this is satire is needed.

It no doubt is a comment that Boehner could have made behind closed doors.

I don't want to live in a world where I am shepherded by stupid, lying, and inhumane corporatists that will have me thrown off the insurance roles due to whatever they dream up next. Boehner is looking more and more like a wuss every time he gets in front of the nation and cries like a five year old that didn't get his way. The ACA is here and it isn't going anywhere. He has a limited amount of time left in congress because those of us here in Ohio have had enough of the lies. Kasich has expanded medicare to get the fed money but is only doing it because he knows here in Ohio the majority want it and a state exchange. Kasich is on the way out here also We are all gathering together all across the state to demand he and his republican cohorts and run out of the state and sent to live in texas.

The fact that satire and reality are blurred in itself says a lot.
