Well, if you believe $7.25 or less is adequate, the chart means nothing. ProSense Apr 2014 #4

I must be missing something. The graphs show that almost all states are lower than the proposed $10.10 and that about half are lower (including mine ) than current the $7.25 Federal mininmum wage. I firmly believe we should, I just don't see where the graph says why we should.

Otherwise, it shows that most states are paying an inadequate wage.

There is text at the link fleshing out the details.

By itself, the graph does not tell why the minimum wage should be raised. I told you that I thought it should be raised, so questioning my beliefs is rather pointless. The title does not say "The text in these links shows why..."

"By itself, the graph does not tell why the minimum wage should be raised. I told you that I thought it should be raised, so questioning my beliefs is rather pointless. The title does not say 'The text in these links shows why...'"

..."questioning" your beliefs. I was making a rhetorical and generic "you" statement about the adequacy of the current minimum wage.

The debate has been about the raising the minimum wage and the fact that it hasn't kept pace. Showing that most states aren't paying an adequate wage is the reason.

If I posted a chart showing inadequate job growth, I could state that the chart shows why a jobs bill is necessary.

If one is making a rhetorical statement, one might use the phrase "One" to more clearly indicate that the comment is not directed at the person who is being replied to. Which is a tangent, but whatever.

Don't get me wrong I fully support raising the minimum wage, but someone reading the title and expecting to see a graph that show why the minimum wage should be raised is going to be disappointed.

I agree fully, if you posted a chart showing why the minimum wage should be raised, you could state that the chart shows why legislation to raise the minimum wage is necessary.

...I should have phrased it: if one believes $7.25 or less is adequate, the chart means nothing.
