Jesse Ventura slams minimum wage foes: Pure capitalism robbed us blind

You're going to make Boehner cry Jesse.

Friday on his show “Off the Grid,” former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura called for the minimum wage to be raised and warned that unfettered capitalism was unsustainable.

“Well, it can smell like socialism all you want,” he said, responding to a viewer’s comment, “but why should a guy pushing a pencil make more than a guy doing back-breaking work digging a ditch? I notice CEOs, they never sweat. They wear suits all day, ties, they go to lunch — and they get paid the big dough.”

“Anybody working 40 hours a week should not have to be subsidized in any way, shape, or form by the government,” Ventura added. “They should be able to earn a wage to live off of.”

The political rebel and former professional wrestler said raising the minimum wage “absolutely stimulates the economy” because poorer people tend to spend most of their income on goods and services rather than stashing it in a bank.

Capitalism is unsustainable on its basic premise that there can be unlimited profits from unlimited resources. That is impossible in a place with finite resources.
The sooner that people see this, the better off everyone will be.

that ends in feudalism.
Because it is a mater of math and time before the 1% own all the property and resources and then the rest of us live on their property at their pleasure...and we are almost there whether we know it or not.

They had a private meeting, and when a reporter asked what they talked about Ventura said he asked the Dalai Lama if he ever saw the movie Caddy Shack.

Well, good for him. He is speaking the truth. I wonder how many heads will be exploding over this.

Still the rebel, I suppose.

Maybe take on Boehner, Paul Ryan and Eric Canker all at once. Even then the odds would be on Ventura's side.

It helped turn revenue surpluses to deficits in less than 10 years. He knows from economics.

More often than not it's the second. He might actually be a pretty decent guy politically if he laid off the conspiracy theories.

Laugh if you need to, but the State of Minnesota ran pretty well under his governorship,
and he gave some lasting gifts to The People, like Light Rail in the Twin Cities,
for which he was excoriated by BOTH major parties.

He was followed by Republican Norm Coleman who instituted his Republican brand of Austerity,
cutting services (like the DMV, DNR, etc.) to the bone, closed satellite offices, and fired the employees.
Most of the citizens of the Twin Cities said they wished Jesse was back.

On a practical side, he recognized his limitations.
Instead of Party Cronies, he hired real management experts to run the state while he was out getting Face Time in front of the cameras, and that was good for Minnesota.
I enjoyed having a Governor that "owed" NOTHING to either major party,
and was free to Speak his Mind.

The raw material he provided for anyone in the Professional Entertainment Industry in the Twin Cities (I was),
Jesse provided tons of raw material. EVERYBODY had their Jesse impersonations that were good for hours of laughter.

The man IS much smarter that the one he plays in front of the TV Cameras.
It is a mistake to underestimate his intelligence.
I LIKE Jesse Ventura,
and viable 3rd Parties are GOOD for Democracy.

I would take Jesse again over any Republican Governor,
and over about 1/2 of the Democratic Governors.
