Regarding Congressman Vance McAllister's philandering:
". . . [W]hile the national media gawks over the lurid details and focuses on Congressman McAllisters rank hypocrisy, theyre missing the real scandal here: Who leaked the video, and was this leak purposely timed? After all, this video was recorded nearly four months ago, from inside the Congressmans own district office . . . .
"[Apparently] party leaders were aware of Congressman McAllisters plan to continue emphasizing the need for Medicaid expansion, not just in front of Washington audiences but also in meetings throughout Louisiana. And that, more than anything, may explain why these videos were released when they were."

(39,343 posts)If you get something good on someone that you can use for an advantage, you can either use the threat of its release to get what you want from them (leverage) or you can use it to dirty their brand (dirt). Maybe he wouldn't play ball so the video holder decided to use it to get him out of the way.
Boy I miss the good ol days of domestic surveillance. Leverage and dirt and power...

(53,661 posts)I smell the foul odor of ALEC and Koch dollars discrediting any Republican who tries to be reasonable and humane.
That's how they just got their way in Kansas, and they will do the same in all the states. Jindal is holding firm despite the tide turning.
The Koches fund only those who vote to repeal the ACA and to end public schools, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security as they currently exist to kill more people and line their pockets. They know that people can't live without these things.
Their agenda has all been laid out by Harry Reid and the ALEC Exposed website. This is the far right purging those who they consider to be not pure enough for the paymasters. I wish they'd get it over with and call it the Koch party already.

(31,849 posts)I realize that the disclosure is an attempt to slap at a republican that is semi-sympathetic to the ACA, if only in his support of Medicaid expansion ...
But the "Red Neck Watergate" line made me laugh.

(7 posts)That's how good political writing is spozed to be done, but I will prolly never learn it.
Somewhere in Louisiana a brilliant alligator has learned to type... and he's tired of carrion, wants to eat something alive.
