BREAKING: Woman In Custody After Throwing Shoe At Hillary Clinton During Speech

Last edited Fri Apr 11, 2014, 01:17 AM - Edit history (1)

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A woman was taken into federal custody Thursday after throwing a shoe at Hillary Rodham Clinton as the former secretary of state began a Las Vegas convention keynote speech.

The incident happened moments after Clinton took the stage before an Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries meeting at the Mandalay Bay resort.

Clinton ducked, and she did not appear to be hit by the object. She then joked about it.

"Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque de Soleil?" Clinton quipped.

“Radar Online reports that Ernst, who is from Phoenix, is the same Allison Michelle Ernst who showed up at a court hearing for Aurora movie theater shooter James Holmes and started screaming.
In the August 2012 incident, she screamed at Holmes before being escorted out.
‘I tried to deliver information vital to the defense of James Holmes to the public defender,’ she said at the time.
She later filed a preliminary injunction for a restraining order against Holmes because she accused him of ‘entering my mind though subliminal messaging and causing me to be obsessed with him on a daily basis’.
‘I sleep, eat, and think James Holmes 24/7 and I seek a restraining order to have this James Holmes mind manipulation to stop,’ she wrote in the injunction.
‘I watched Inception, so I’m fully aware of James Holmes magical powers... James enters my head like Dennis Quaid in inner space and he zooms my heart and plays with it and forces me to care for him.
‘Holmes won’t even look at me (in court)... this offends me, my life and skin. James Holmes is being framed.
‘They wanted to Tim McVay [sic] him...Much like James Holmes, [McVeigh] was a mind-controlled patsy that they dumped the blame for the bombing on,’ she wrote, referencing the Oklahoma City bomber.”

I'm not a Hillary supporter for 2016, but only a crazy person would throw a shoe at her.

Anyway, I'm glad that Hillary was not hurt and that she took advantage of the opportunity to show that she has a sense of humor. She handled it a lot better than GWB did when someone threw a shoe at him.

I hope that shoe-throwing does not become something people do to politicians. That's terrible. Someone could get hurt.

The law was established after the Kennedy assassination. When Bill Clinton was president, Congress changed the law. The presidents after Clinton and their wives would only get 10 years of SS after they left office. The original law was reinstated after 9/11/01. We live in a dangerous world, no one wants to see a former president or first lady assassinated. it's traumatic for the nation. Therefore, they all get SS protection for life.

In 1967 Che Guevara entered Bolivia to set up a secret base. "Operation Cynthia" was a sweep of 2,500 Bolivian troops to find him. They failed and lost more soldiers than the guerrillas. Pres. Barrientos of Bolivia requests help from Argentina and is refused.

What this has to do with anything these days is a complete mystery.
Maybe she's just a nut.

A shoe wouldn't probably have caused too much harm if it actually had hit her, but it's the lone person with a weapon that SS fear the most. Look what happened to Gabby Giffords. The man was mentally disturbed. He killed several people, including a child, and almost killed Gabby. That's why, although it was only a shoe, the SS takes these kinds of assaults seriously.

They are all guilty. Guilty of naivety or guilty of lying and misleading the American public.

If Hillary wanted to prove herself as a strong leader there was no better time than putting her foot down on Iraq, she sold out her party, the American people and American service men and woman.

And Bush should be tried for war crimes.

Not lying, as nothing Clinton said was untrue, particularly as she was one of the only senators to speak before the vote, but that she likely knew Bush would attack Iraq without WMDs being found.

That said, the enabling vote would not have stopped Bush.

There is always that when I run out of Real Facts - which I won't because there are so many but I still reserve the right to say that, because apparently it's okay to do that on DU. I'm not much into keeping score here, but I am fairly certain that some people who want to ignore the many warts and faults of Hillary and call for the ref when someone points out facts about Hillary they just don't want to hear, well I just wonder if they praised that 'piece of shit' p.o.s. post. Whether as a rec or a silent, YAH! Where that post was completely and utterly wrong in the accusation and got shameful support.

Bringing up the Iraq war, where Hillary owns a percentage of the maim and suffering and death of Iraqis and of American soldiers and personnel, is appropriate, any time. You and she cannot hide from that glaring fact.

She owns a % of that debacle and should be reminded of that regularly. If I was a stat person I would count up the votes agreeing with the Chimperor, and divide the number of killed and maimed and hang it on each and every one of those Idiots that voted for The Chief Idiot's false war. Bring a body count in, show just how ugly being 'wrong' with this sort of decision can be.

Gloss over if it's important to your well being or well feeling about her, but that is a Truth that cannot be denied -- Hillary helped George Bush kill people.

Our candidate won the election, so let's give him/her a chance before you start criticizing.

Remember there are off-season elections to worry about, so you ought to stop with the trash talk or do you want to elect Republicans?

Politicians will never be Jesus Christ with a perfect soul and divine power. Sure we should call them on their shortcomings, but the role of a politician is the honing of a craft in moving forward an agenda against countervailing forces and interests. And in a democracy governed by law he is empowered by a fickle electorate.

You are President and you ask Rahm Emmanuel to be your CoS to get him out of Nancy Pelosi's way...

There's a time and place for everything. One would think that an article about a woman throwing a shoe at a fellow Democrat would elicit some kind of negative response at the actions of the woman who threw the shoe, but nooooo, not on DU.

Here, every single damn article on either Clinton only elicits the kind of vituperative nastiness that one reads on RW sites. Why the hell should people who support her want to come here? They are like vultures, waiting with hungry anticipation for an animal to die so that they can feed on it.
