Mississippi Tea Party Candidate Mocks Whiny Minorities

Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel (R-MS), the tea party favored candidate to challenge incumbent Republican Sen. Thad Cochran who seems to be in the habit of associating with white nationalists and neo-Confederates, vowed not to pay taxes if they go up because of reparations over slavery and mocked complaints of racism over an ad depicting a white woman holding down a black woman.

McDaniel, while riffing on a shock jock radio program in late 2006 or early 2007, compared rapper Vanilla Ice to a minstrel show performer and pondering when it's appropriate to refer to a woman as "Mamacita." The Wall Street Journal was able to obtain a clip of McDaniel making the remarks.

In the radio segment McDaniel:

• Complained about criticism of an ad showing a white woman holding down a black woman: "Speaking of race. Here's a heckuva story on race…There’s a white woman, and she’s holding down a black woman. The world’s gone nuts. Listen to this. Minority groups in California screaming that the image is racist. ‘San Francisco politician Tom LeLand says ‘It’s racially charged, unnecessary and clearly offensive to our community.’ Well, she wasn’t holding down a gay guy. She was holding down a —a…anyway."

Get out and vote. Complaining will not get rid of these folks…..PLEASE get out and vote!!!!! We must win every possible seat in November. This could be our most important election…I know people say that all the time, but this time I do believe it is (at least until 2016). Please get out and vote!!!! Thad Cochran typically wins overwhelming majority among both Republicans and Democrats in the state. He's a nice guy, brings home the bacon, and is a safe choice for voters. If CM won GOP primary then his appeal would be limited to red meat radicals. He is not well liked around here. In recent years, Mississippi has not elected bombastic types to state-wide office. We like our racism to be polite and soft spoken.

Federal money represents a big chunk of the state economy. That percentage has grown dramatically over the past six years. The government shutdown/default back in October scared a lot of people. I do not think that there would be enthusiasm for a candidate who promises to the do same thing if given half a chance.

A Childers/McDaniel race would result in lots of white voters staying home. White trash Tea Party would be out in full force but I think that large AA vote could produce a win for Democrats.
