The NRA & GOP need to wake up and realize that George Zimmerman isn't their posterboy for SYG

Watched a bunch of news tonight both at the gym and when I got home later tonight and it really does seem like they're trying to make George Zimmerman seem like he was totally justified in shooting 17 year old Trayvon Martin.

But the more I saw about Zimmerman and the more I read about him - the GOP, NRA and other gun activists need to back off and just let this one go. The right-wing media is so desperately trying to make Zimmerman out to be the victim and it's just not working. Zimmerman has 100lbs on Martin AND remember he also had his car nearby. Zimmerman has a history of violence with both a domestic violence & police abuse record against him. He has had a repeated history of contacting 911 repeatedly over what he deemed was 'suspect'. And Zimmerman was NOT an official neighborhood watchperson for that community - plus if he was he was breaking the rules by bringing a gun with him. The 2 damning calls - the call he made to 911 where they told him to back away plus the last call Trayvon made to his friend and now the lead investigator comes out and said they had the evidence to prosecute Zimmerman but was told to back away.

I know these right-wing folks want to prove that "Stand Your Ground" laws work but this is just not the guy to do it with. The best thing the right-wing media can do is just stop defending Zimmerman and let nature take it's course with this case. It only makes them look stupid for defending what will, at a minimum, come out as a manslaughter and what might end up being a hate crime murder.

Miami judge decides fatal stabbing was self-defense

Judge Beth Bloom threw out the murder charge against a man who chased a car burglar for more than a block and then stabbed him, killing him.

Greyston Garcia, whose murder charges were thrown out by a Miami-Dade judge Wednesday based on Florida's 'Stand Your Ground' law.

As critics assail Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law in the wake of the killing of an unarmed Miami Gardens teen in Sanford, a Miami-Dade judge on Wednesday cited the law in tossing out the case of a man who chased down a suspected burglar and stabbed him to death.

11. SYG is not an acronym that has been approved yet- Please refrain/stop using it

It's better to go ahead and type out the words instead of creating new acronyms. We at the international acronym approval forum have a lot of work to do, so please stop making more

Besides, a simple google search will show that SYG has been tentatively been claimed by a band called "Set Your Goals". We here at the forum give cultural acronyms a fair shake, but if Cisco or Microsoft come and have some new protocol called "SYG", we'll have to go ahead and tell the band "Set Your Goals" you are fucked LOL...
