We Need To Press Deborah Wasserman Schultz - DNC Chair - What She Will Do To Push Turnout In Nov....

I want the Dems to take the House in Nov 2014. I want to know what D.W.Schultz and the DNC is going to do to mount a real effort to get Dem voters to turnout and vote. We need to have the cable news people like Maddow, Schultz, O'Donnell, Matthews, and all the MSNBC people take her to task on their shows and press her for what she and the DNC is going to do to get Dems out to vote in Nov. I want to keep the Senate as well. God knows that the President deserves a Dem House and Senate to get all those things done that he wants and was unable to do with the non-cooperative Repubs.

DNC staffs up for voter expansion project

The Democratic National Committee is staffing up in Ohio and Texas as part of its “Voter Expansion Project” aimed at pushing back on laws the party sees as restricting voting access.

On Wednesday, DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) announced four new hires, including state directors for the project in Texas and Ohio.

“With our state party partners, we have a national infrastructure and team of experts that no other organization can bring to bear," she said in a statement. "Voting laws are rapidly changing, and our Voter Expansion Project will make sure that Democrats – and all voters – across the country are able to exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard.”

But the bigger question is: what are YOU doing? Are you donating to the DNC so that they can in turn send money to the state parties for get out the vote efforts? We are, of course, a long way from GOTV: that happens in the week or so before an election, not now. What they need now is money to start to allow individual campaigns to rent field office space and hire field staff, who in turn will recruit volunteers to make phone calls and go door to door to get Democratic voters to the polls in the final days of the election cycle.

But don't pull this "Mommy" stuff about what Debbie Wasserman Schultz is doing. She can't do anything unless you do something: donate money, volunteer for a campaign to do voter ID work now and/or GOTV later.

To me it simply looks like you want someone to blame later, as you sit behind a keyboard looking for a whipping boy (or in this case, girl). Get out the vote efforts don't happen from Washington: they are ultra-local, and they won't happen at all unless you do something real.
