once you "get" the "r over g" idea you can pretty much understand what they are talking about but it is hard otherwise. I had a grad level econ course but it only gave me broad outlines of philosophical treatises in Economics and it was tough reading (don't even ASK about the Austrian School!). However, I am glad now that I took it because I get the whole debate over what is basically "what is value?"

I watched the whole thing but my feed kept breaking up which made it pretty difficult, especially with Piketty's thick accent. It will probably be on YouTube or someplace later and maybe the recording will run smoother with buffering.

I know it sounds so la-dee-da but it really is important. we are all getting killed by economic theory that is terribly flawed by acceptances of inequality. We need to know what we are up against!
