Romney back in politics, thanks to U.S. Chamber of Commerce

How establishment can you get: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce enlisted Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, to star in a 30-second television commercial for Rep. Mike Simpson.

The eight-term Idaho Republican faces a primary challenge from Bryan Smith, a Tea Party candidate endorsed by the Club for Growth and FreedomWorks.

Romney looks very presidential in the ad, standing in what almost looks like the Oval Office.

"The stakes are very high in this election because Washington spending is out of control," Romney says in the commercial, which began running Wednesday.

"You can take it from me: the conservative choice for Congress is Mike Simpson," he says." I know because I've seen him in action."

Simpson, like Romney, is a Mormon, and there are lots of Mormon in Idaho. It probably doesn't hurt to have the first Mormon presidential nominee on your side.

but the far right hate him because he isn't conservative enough and swing voters just think of him as a loser.

I don't expect to see any real impact from him. He is last cycle's news.
