Because he only knows as much as we do. He hasn't even seen him since the shooting. To be honest, I think Joe is looking for a position on the Fox News team.

...this man is really, really, really unstable. He's not helping. He said he's taken time off from work because his employer "doesn't want to lose their clients." He said that if he's proven wrong "he'll put on a hoodie." He said it several times..."If I'm proven wrong, I'll be the first person in line at the million hoodie march."

Thomas Roberts was direct with him...and pretty unrelenting, too...but his interview style is perhaps a little "friendlier" than Lawrence O'Donnell. Even with that, Oliver was hemming and hawing and it was a pretty uncomfortable thing to watcjh.
