I sure wouldn't want to read the inevitable crap in the comments column on the video.

Fights on and off the field happened all the time when I was in high school.

I see nothing has changed!

That girl who was tripped would STILL be flopping around on the ground, holding her face and peeking at the ref.

Soccer is a savage sport where we allow players to beat the shit out of each other as a matter of course.

Red card and immediate expulsion from the game with the team playing a person short. She'll miss the next game and probably be suspended for an additional number of games after the incident is reviewed by league officials.

fighting is bad sportsmanship, plain and simple
we need to teach our kids good sportsmanship
I am a big pro sports fan, football, baseball, basketball but I never watch hockey because of the silly fighting
actually watching the Nationals and the Mets now

OHHhhh. I see. The young lady who lost her temper is black, and the young lady who was attacked is as white as the driven snow. Teeheehee, I see what you did there. You are SUCH a clever little devil!

Even the best-paid and most professional of sports players can let their emotions get the better of them and end up in fisticuffs. Watch a few games at the top level and you'll see it.

15. Hell, that's nothing. I once watched a 6 girl boxing match at my daughters HS soccer game.

There had been escalating tensions between them throughout the game, and a couple of them had already been yellowcarded for contact. One bad contact later, it erupted into a huge fistfight between all six. All were redcarded, and two of the girls on my daughters team were permanently ejected from the school soccer team. Not just for the season...they were sophmores and were permanently banned from league play (one of the girls ripped a brow piercing from another player, and the second kicked the bleeding girl in the head while whe was writhing on the ground).

Soccer is a very physical sport with lots of contact between players, and tempers can flare. These kinds of fights are pretty common.
