Sanford cops sought warrant to arrest George Zimmerman in Trayvon Martin shooting

http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/crime/article1222259.ece

Samples from article:

Asked to confirm that the police recommended a manslaughter charge, special prosecutor Angela Corey said:

"I don't know about that, but as far as the process I can tell you that the police went to the state attorney with a capias request, meaning: 'We're through with our investigation and here it is for you.' The state attorney impaneled a grand jury, but before anything else could be done, the governor stepped in and asked us to pick it up in midstream."

A capias is a request for charges to be filed."

So, all the racists will have to admit that even the Sanford cops wanted to arrest the guy, so why did the local DA decide NOT to? The plot sickens and thickens.

We will soon learn whether the state attorney is a FIXER or an honest official.

If she is a FIXER, then the feds will need to step in and clean out that ugly Florida vipers nest.

The Governor calls the shots on what the State attorney does, especially in high profile cases. This sounds like it could be explosive, if the controversy leads directly to the Governor's door. I'm surprised we haven't heard more about this.

it says that the Governor asked special prosecutor Angela Corey to take it over from the state attorney. It's not clear to me what the implications of this are, if any. It doesn't necessarily mean that the Governor pulled the plug.

how thorough they were in their investigation.

And why wasn't the family kept abreast of the progress of the investigation? They were not witnesses. If my child were murdered in this fashion, I would want the police to at least let me know they were working on the case. Remember how we used to hear a lot about victims' rights?

Where were the victims' rights with regard to Trayvon Martin's parents?
