Family's car bursts into flames in lion enclosure at Safari Park

By AOL Travel, Apr 19, 2014

A family was left in a terrifying predicament on an Easter holiday trip to Longleat Safari Park - after their car caught fire in the lion enclosure.

The car overheated at the Wiltshire attraction on Friday afternoon.

Thankfully, rangers managed to rescue a woman and two children before the entire car burst into flames.

Kevin Ashley, from Longleat Safari Park, told the BBC: "The lions were cleared from the enclosure and the safari park was closed."

Burn or be eaten some hard choices to face.

But as my daughter says, at least you have a story to tell and surviving would be one hell of a story.

Reminds me of "the monkeys still control the cabana." Dunno why.

in California as a kid during a school field trip, one of the lions jumped onto the hood of the bus. It made for a spectacular memory. Unfortunately they closed that facility. I went to it a couple of times with my parents. It was probably my favorite amusement in Southern California as a kid (and we are talking about a lot of great things).
