Interesting map of poverty in the US. Can't help but notice the large poverty areas in the Southern states :

It's the more affluent in those states you need to point the finger at.

I realize the affluent right wing is oppressing their vote, but that is all the more reason to make sure to get out the vote.

They DO have an excuse. They are struggling to survive. Voting is a low priority. The poor don't have the leisure time nor the ability to get time off, even if they did see that voting might help them. They don't think voting will change their lives and it usually doesn't. I'm just saying, don't heap blame on the poor. It's misdirected.
The more poor you have, the less voting. And now we have even more efforts to oppress their votes. I'm all for trying to corral the poor to the polls, but it is a hard thing to do I know from experience.
Point the finger at the creators of these problems.
