Amby Burfoot won the Boston Marathon at age 21 in 1968 in Boston on the eve of the 2014 Boston Marathon April 20, 2014. Burfoot, the winner of the 1968 Boston Marathon, was unable to complete last year's race when two bombs ripped through the crowd at the finish line. This year, the 67-year-old Burfoot is back, running Monday's race as a sort of public love letter to the city and his favorite event. Photograph: Timothy A Clary/AFP/Getty Images

That last image of Amby Burfoot with MR8~

Team MR8 ran for Martin Richards. I did see one MR8 TShirt fly by.

I was downtown (suburbs) early this morning and saw the first people pass by, those with disabilities, Tatyana was one of them. Other disabled ran with their guides, one was a sweet autistic boy pushing forward. Then their were the amputees running on prosthetic legs. One was a double amputee. I admire their collective spirit! They were all cheered on by a huge crowd!

I saw Meb, Rita and Ernst fly by too. I didn't know that I was seeing the winners at that time.

A beautiful, warm and colorful day in Massachusetts!

which is in remote Mono County, east of the Sierra and well north of San Diego.

He did grow up in Sandy Eggo, though.

I’ve run Boston before, running for the Alzheimer’s Association in 2010, and was not sure I would be doing it again any time soon, though I have finished other marathons since then. I certainly had no thoughts of running it this year. I planned to be out on the course cheering, for sure, but at no point until a few weeks ago did I think, "I’m going to run this race." And suddenly, I get the honor, the pleasure, the privilege to run the most important and exciting Boston that’s ever been run.

From your link...

My dad has Alzheimer's. That is an amazing link Cha. The marathons bring out the best of the best. Running for what needs to be said. No matter what our disabilities are we can overcome them. Or reach out and help those that no longer can.

It is about excellence and Web also was one that proved that. They all did.Rita, Tatyana, Ernst and every soul that crossed that finish line.

The President was right.

"..As President Obama said during the interfaith service following the bombings, "We will finish the race."..

Indeed we did!

Cha!

By Paul Crocetti

"I feel like I’m cramming for the greatest test in the world."

"Thanks to a couple of friends, a few weeks ago, I was awarded the chance to run the Boston Marathon on April 21. Given that I’ve been running every day for a while now but haven’t exactly been training for a marathon, I gave it a day’s thought and realized, this is an offer I can’t refuse."I feel like I’m cramming for the greatest test in the world."

I found it by googling Pres Obama's quote on "We will finish the race"..

We now know that, when the going gets tough, most Bostonians can be counted on to let SWAT teams shut down their city to do illegal house to house !searches, all the while sitting on their lawns smiling, with their hands over their heads, showing their fulsome support for the heavily-armed invaders.

Boston Strong indeed.
