You all know that Spike Lee just stepped in it, don't you?

He made a classic mistake. He got the wrong Zimmerman and twittered the wrong person's address.

The case is now in the hands of Morgan and Morgan.

Trayvon Martin: Couple who fled home after Spike Lee tweet hires Morgan firm

A couple who say they were forced to leave their home after director Spike Lee re-tweeted their address to his Twitter followers has hired the Morgan & Morgan law firm to represent them.

"At this point, they have retained us to protect their interests" and their safety, attorney Matt Morgan said of Elaine and David McClain, an elderly Sanford-area couple in their 70s.

The couple's address was tweeted by a man who believed he had uncovered the address of George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman who shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last month.

The problem is, the address does not belong to Zimmerman, but to the McClains, who have a son named William George Zimmerman who lived there in 1995 and still lives in Central Florida.

Does anyone have access to legal software or sources that can confirm family relationships? Someone gave me a good source, but I want to take it a step further to go beyond the immediate family. You can PM me for information.

...because this is a Country where we dole out justice in the Courts, not in someone's front yard.

3. Correct. He shouldn't have done it. If it costs him money, that's the price he'll pay.

If it had been the right address, and Zimmerman had been there... And a mob gathered to get street justice...

Okay, a lot of IF's... It would all be on Spike Lee's head for inciting a riot.

He really put his foot in it, alright.

8. Seems to me that some forms of "justice" is doled out in the courtyards of gated condo complexes

Whatever little respect I might have had for the angry little POS's movies, I lost all of it when he threatened to sue Spike TV because the name usage could have harmed his reputation.

I can't really tell from the story. It was a dumb move which could have turned out very badly and I'm sure he'll write them a check, but it looks to me like their actually damages are pretty minimal.

14. Spike Lee will probably write the check and shrug it off.

Of course, with his kind of money, the question is, why didn't he bother to get a fact checker?

The time it would have taken to look up he could have used to cool down and not do something so boneheaded impulsive.

better than to twit an address. His own "Do the Right Thing" shows the danger in not thinking before doing.
