the history of Pharaonic Egypt is absolutely fascinating even without the influence of alien beings. Perhaps especially without the influence of alien beings, given that there are people who actually believe that shite.

Visits to Cairo, Gizeh, Luxor, Karnak, Hatshepsut's Temple, tombs in the Valley of the Kings and other sites along the Nile remain among the highlights of my life. My only regret was that I only had barely enough time to scratch the surface of what is there/known and was totally unprepared for the awesome impacts of these millennia-aged phenomena. I still look forward to returning - at a much more leisurely pace - and also to exploring more of the area south of Aswan (Nubia).

Perhaps it would be better if such a series were called something like "Game of Pharaohs" or "Pharaohs and Aliens" or "The X-Pharaohs" ... or some such. IMO, just "Pharaoh" would trivialize very real human accomplishments.

But yes, it does sound like fun.

I loved Stargate and alt-history sci-fi is fun - but presenting something as history (even historical fiction) with a premise of ancient aliens is a bit annoying, since the known history is more than sufficient to create riveting entertainment.

This does sound fun, but I hope they make it clear that it's just entertainment.

I also love the history of short-lived Amarna and the absolutely beautiful bust of Nefertiti that is perhaps its most enduring legacy.

Frankly, I love good story-telling from any genre.

I'll take either, fantasy or epic history. Love them both.

I love them both too - am literally fanatic about Game of Thrones. And many, many, MANY others!

But they are clearly fantasy from the outset, even though they may be historically-based.

There are people who actually BELIEVE that aliens - from outer space - created the pyramids!
