How does one feel their life is threatened...

when the other person (Trayvon) doesn't have a weapon and is only using his fists. Question would whether it happened as GZ states. If it did wouldn't there be tissue from GZ on Trayvon? Wouldn't there bruises and other injuries on Trayvon from him pummeling GZ?

Why does it look like GZ has little if any injuries that would had resulted from such an altercation?

On the other issue is whether GZ made a derogatory remark that pushed Trayvon over that he attacked GZ. I'm leaning towards this as the reason for any possible attack by Trayvon. And that GZ of course keeping those details out so he looks like it was unprovoked. Considering that he followed Trayvon despite being warned not to follow I'm of the opinion that GZ continuously provoked Trayvon and does not have a leg to stand on for the stand your ground law as he was the aggressor and Trayon was not.

reverse the fact that this young man is not coming back, and that sucks big time. All that can be done now is to fight and make certain that Zimmerman pays the ultimate price for his crime, and it will be labeled as a crime in the not to distant future IMO. The possible good that may come out of this is, this law may be abolished in all States that currently have it on the books.

Did they collect samples from Trayvon? There may have been Zimmerman's skin under his nails, scuff marks on his fingers, blood from Zimmerman's nose on his hand, blood from Zimmerman's nose all over Trayvon and Zimmerman if it was broken. If Zimmerman was fighting with a bleeding nose, there should have been blood splatter. I broke someone's nose before, and it bleeds a lot.

On edit: Also this new video of the police with Zimmerman, just shows how lax they were. No gloves while touching Zimmerman's jacket, allowing Zimmerman to wear his jacket while in custody, and those are things we know they fucked up. Along with keeping Trayvon as a John Doe for 3 days. This outcome probably isn't going to be good.

As you said, noses bleed like pigs.

I've treated patients with broken noses and bashed heads after a scuffle. Mr. Zimmerman don't look like a man who just came from one. Clean tucked shirt, really?

I have no idea how I would assess that if someone were attacking me. How can anyone know? Or think of that split second before a fatal car crash. I wonder how many knew they were about to die.

When an untrained person gets their bell rung, even if they are not seriously injured, they could easily and reasonably fear they are at risk of great bodily harm or death, the key element in the legal use of deadly force for self defense. Another more graphic example is rape. Would a woman being raped by an unarmed rapist be allowed to use deadly force? The answer is normally yes in both generic cases since there is a reasonable fear under the circumstances of great bodily harm or death. This is independent of any duty to retreat, stand your ground, or castle doctrine.

In this case, WITH THE NEWLY RELEASED VIDEO, for the first time we have real evidence (vice conjecture) that there were no injuries to Zimmerman, even one that would have rung his bell. All we had previously was a police statement that he had head and facial injuries and was looked at by EMS on the scene. Be nice to add the EMS report to the pile, since it should be definitive about the injuries and *might* explain the differences between the police report and the video. Regardless, at this point the claim of self defense looks to be unsupportable.

I'm a 5'1, 125 lb female.

If a man came after me with only his fists, he could still kill me.

As far as Trayvon's actions that night, I'm still of the firm opinion that George Zimmerman started the conflict via his attempt to falsely imprison Trayvon (he wanted to hold him until the police arrived). If he fought back, THAT was self-defense.
