With many being fans of what boils down to a bunch of barely dressed guys dancing together.

Everyone loves it.

We've sublimated our homoerotic urges in just such a way that they maintain much of the outward physical intimacy of homosexuality while being just distant enough to leave our deeply rooted homophobia largely undisturbed. It's really an amazing descent into the human unconscious.

Ric is charismatic, yes. He's also very Republican (he did some promotional stuff for DimSon and supported Huckabee in 2008), an alcoholic (note that I didn't say "recovering&quot and had a long love affair with cocaine that may or may not have ever ended. He's been married and divorced four times, his second wife alleges spousal abuse and, by his own admission, he was a lousy father. He's foul-tempered and thin-skinned and still owes the IRS close to a million dollars which he's never made any real attempt to pay off.

As a performer, Flair is one of the two or three best ever but he's a pretty poor human being.

I'm a liberal, bisexual and a wrestling fan. In fact, I was such a fan that I tried to make it for a few years (never did, I was ok but not great and only the great get the contracts). When we watch wrestling, we're not thinking about sex. We're enjoying the artistry and skill required to perform that match safely. Wrestling stopped pretending to be anything but performance art years ago but we can still enjoy a well performed match (and the Flair/Steamboat match you linked is considered a classic).

The matches were not picked randomly. I tried to put up two great examples of the art, featuring four of the greatest performers of all time..

Just pointing out a bit of hypocrisy from people who would lose it, even get violent, by seeing 2 guys in swim trunks holding each other if they weren't pretending to fight.

I'm so used to people (especially liberals, for some reason) being all snobby about wrestling, I wrongly assumed you were doing the same. Apologies.
