It wasn't terribly long ago that the Democratic Party still had a bit of a right-wing, most of it in the South, even as many Democrats leaned left.

After watching a large portion of DU fall over themselves in order to stick their nose up Zimmerman's asscrack, the big heap of people who think Natives should STFU about things that offend them, the occasional bout of frothing antiziganism, and of course the mind-boggling hate often directed towards Arabs, and well... Seems to be plenty of room for bigots of all flavors, at least among the common democrat. Elected ones seem to restrain themselves to anti-Arab hate.

There are those who like to exploit it in such a way to make it seem as it is the entire nation. Basically, it would be like taking the words of that pig Sterling and acting as if he represented the US in any major way.

Yeah, there are racists in Israel. And no, it isn't the whole country. But there are those who will say such attitudes are typical not just of Israelis, but of Jews in general--Ashkenazi Jews especially. It all plays into a certain toxic stereotype I'm sure I don't need to explain to you.

For him, I bet it's not about being better than only "black" people; it's about being better than everyone who is not like him.

I haven't been following this, but I bet he says things about poor people of every group, including poor white American Jews, as well. And I bet the only people he really respects are people who made even more money than he did.

was a 3 month birth control shot. The pushback wasn't so much against the idea that it was wrong, as it was against the sensationalist portrayal of it as a mass Nazi eugenics project.

Not too long ago a pair of Likud MK's helped incited race riots against Africans in south Tel Aviv, resulting in a nice wave of vandalism, assault, and arson as the Jews of those neighborhoods fell on the Africans in order to "preserve Israel's Jewish character," thereby demonstrating htey have no idea what that phrase means.

There's also the creepy ass desert prison for African asylum-seekers, and the plan to deport them en masse to Uganda "unofficially," mening with no protection from either Israel or Uganda (which isn't first on any refugee's list, else they'd be going south rather than north, one imagines.)

Their immigration is strictly limited by quotas, their religious traditions are disrespected (to the point that they're often forced to officially "convert" to their own religion in order to marry) and in general they're treated as second class.

So yeah, he came by his racism honestly.
